Asante Kotoko Technical Staff, Players Agree 30% Pay Cut

The technical staff and playing body of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have agreed to take a 30% pay cut in the midst of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis to help reduce the financial burden of the club.

Due to the presence of the deadly disease in the West African country, the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season has been on suspension for the past 2 months.

With no matches being played, clubs are not getting any money from gate proceeds and even some sponsors have withheld monies they are supposed to pay to the clubs due to the financial challenges they are also going through.

Asante Kotoko in the past few weeks has been in talks with its players and technical team members over a pay cut to help the club through this difficult period.

According to a close source, an agreement has today been reached following a meeting at the club’s secretariat. Players and the technical team have accepted to forego 30% of their monthly salary.

Team manager for Asante Kotoko, Ohene Brenya was present together with some management members at the meeting while Captain Felix Annan, Emmanuel Gyamfi, and Agyemang Badu represented the playing body
