Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu has explained that Emmanuel Sarkodie will be important for being the team’s second defensive midfielder.
Sarkodie became a Porcupine after signing from Nkoranza Warriors.
“Naturally Sarkodie is a defensive midfielder and in our, it is only Blay who plays that position to perfection but, it doesn’t mean the rest are bad players,” Konadu said.
“Sarkodie will be a backup for Blay when he’s injured or suspended but that doesn’t mean Sarkodie won’t be starting games alongside Blay.
The former Black Stars assistant was further asked to comment on talks of Kotoko having made additional signings in the past few weeks.
“We are in talks with other players to join us but we can’t make it public because there’s nothing concrete for now.
“We are talking to one or two players so it’s not likely we will sign more than two players in addition to Sarkodie for now,” Konadu added.
