Midfield gem Mudasiru Salifu says he will happily hand over his favorite number-three jersey to Asamoah Gyan should the Ghanaian legend land in Asante Kotoko.
The Kotoko midfielder tells Kotoko Express App he will happily relinquish his jersey to the senior national team, Black Stars’ all-time goalscorer without anyone’s interventions.
The Black Stars General Captain has given notice that he will wear the Porcupines red colors before he finally calls time on his illustrious career.
Though he did not give timelines, reports in the media in recent weeks suggest that the move could be close as the player looks to be in the twilight of his career.
Asamoah Gyan has throughout his career been wearing the number-three shirt, and Mudasiru insists the jersey will be there for his taking should the serial goal-poacher arrive in Kumasi.
“Asamoah Gyan is my senior man and so I will hand him the number-three jersey and won’t even wait for anyone to tell me to do so,” says Mudasiru. “He is the one that all of us will be looking up to, so I will give it to him once he likes it.”
